The Rycote 010 302 S330 is a zeppelin style of microphone suspension and windshield but with a much simpler and lighter construction. The suspension element of the S Series uses the patented Lyre suspension web, which is a revolutionary non-elastic suspension introduced in March 2007. The lyre design gives ideal isolation for all axial microphones, unlike rubber or elastic suspensions as the materials used in the lyres are unaffected by temperature and are extremely rugged. The suspension is suitable for microphones with a shaft diameter of 19mm to 25mm and lengths of 260mm to 280mm. The windshield is made from two pod halves which are attached to the suspension chassis ring and have an integral fur cover built onto a rigid internal frame. The S series pods are lightweight and manufactured from extremely tough parts, which are strong enough to withstand all the usual rigours of ENG recording environments. The kit comes supplied with a high quality microphone tail, fitted with Neutrik 3 pole gold plated XLR connectors.
